Struggle To Be Kind

Being there more for others - includes being there more for ourselves

Have you ever noticed that when you are more kind, patient and loving towards yourself, you tend to be more kind, patient and loving toward those around you?

The care I give myself is directly related to the care I give you.

What gets in the way of you giving yourself more care?

I wrote this poem a while back:

Struggle to be kind

The mind, the mind

Spinning stories, daily grind

Someone coming from behind

On a constant rewind

To the end of time?

Struggle to be kind

The mind, the mind

Terrified what I may find

If I be that kind

If I follow the sign

If I risk the dime

If I say that last line

If I give what is mine

Struggle to be kind

The mind, the mind

Is it our design?

To always say I’m fine

To ignore the pine

To discredit the whine

The ties that bind

The fears that blind

Struggle to be kind

The mind, the mind

What happens when I’m kind?

What happens when I’m kind?
